# Find Your Corner > Find Your Corner (https://findyourcorner.com) is a free map for choosing where to live in London by journey time. You give it the places you need to reach, each with a time limit, and how you travel; it shades every 200 m square of London by how long the trip takes and clears the squares that miss a limit or a filter (rent, sale price, walks to parks, gyms, schools and stations, cafés and pubs, noise, air, crime). London only. The map is computed in the browser, so a fetch of the page returns no answers: an agent that cannot run JavaScript should build a link from this spec and send it to the person, or ask them to open the map and press Share, then "Copy for your agent", which copies a plain-text summary (the postcode districts that fit, with journey times and rents) to paste back. The whole search lives in the link's fragment, after the `#`. Nothing is sent to a server, there are no accounts, and a link opens the same map for anyone. Links made by people (Copy link) use the same format, so a link can be read as well as written. ## Building a link `https://findyourcorner.com/#` followed by `key=value` pairs joined with `&`. Write a space in a name as `%20`. The characters `@ , ~ | '` can stay as they are or be percent-encoded (`%7C` for `|`): both open the same map. Never put a raw `& # = + %` inside a value. Every parameter is optional; anything missing takes its default, and anything not recognised is ignored (the map still opens). ### Destinations A destination is either: - a listed slug: `work` = Holborn Circus (51.5169, -0.1064). This is the only listed destination today; the list is https://findyourcorner.com/data/index.json. Listed destinations have exact, precomputed times. - any London point: `@lat,lon,Name`, for example `@51.5049,-0.0195,Canary%20Wharf`. The point must lie inside the map: latitude above 51.2592 and up to 51.72, longitude from -0.52 up to (not including) 0.35856; a point outside is ignored. The name is optional and shown on the map; URL-encode it once (a space is `%20`) and keep to letters, digits, spaces, commas, hyphens and apostrophes (`~` and `|` separate fields, so leave them out). Times to a point are worked out in the browser: public transport is an estimate, usually within 5 minutes. **One destination:** `d=` with `max=`. **Two to four destinations** (a couple, or work plus a gym): `i=~|~` (up to 4, separated by a vertical bar). The map then shows only the squares where every trip fits its own limit. `d` is not needed with `i`; if `d` is also given and is one of the `i` places, it becomes destination A. | Key | Meaning | Values | Default | |---|---|---|---| | `d` | the destination (destination A) | a slug or `@lat,lon,Name` | `work` (Holborn Circus) when no `d` and no `i` | | `max` | the time limit for `d`, in minutes | 10 to 90; rounded to the nearest 5; outside 10 to 90 it is ignored | 90 | | `i` | two to four destinations, each with its own limit | `dest~minutes` items joined by a vertical bar; minutes rounded to 5 and kept within 10 to 90; a missing or zero limit is 45 | none | Notes: with `i`, a place listed twice keeps the tighter limit; past four places the rest are dropped. A single place in `i` with no `d` is ignored (the default destination opens), so use `d` and `max` for one destination. ### How and when | Key | Meaning | Values | Default | |---|---|---|---| | `m` | travel modes, comma-separated; with more than one, `mj` says how they combine | `pt` public transport (Tube, rail, bus); `bike_own` own bike; `bike_lime` Lime e-bike (inside the Lime zone); `mix_own` public transport with up to 15 min on your own bike to a station; `mix_lime` the same on a Lime | `pt` | | `mj` | with two or more modes: how they combine | absent = all must work (a square is judged by the slowest of the modes listed); `any` = any one will do (judged by the quickest) | all | | `day` | the day | `wed` a weekday; `sat` a weekend day | `wed` | | `t` | the time | `0900` 9am; `1300` 1pm; `1900` 7pm; `0100` 1am (weekday: a Tuesday night, night buses only; weekend: a Friday night, Night Tube and night buses); `day` the slowest of 9am, 1pm and 7pm at each square | `0900` | | `dir` | the direction | `to` getting there (home to destination); `from` getting home (destination to home) | `to` | Bike and Lime times do not change with `day` or `t`. For "public transport or a bike, whichever is quicker", list both with `mj=any`; for "it has to work by public transport and by bike", leave `mj` out. If the bike is only for getting to a station, `mix_own` / `mix_lime` fits better. For a late night out at the weekend, `day=sat&t=0100` is the closest slot; with `dir=from` it means getting home. ### What the map shows | Key | Meaning | Values | Default | |---|---|---|---| | `v` | the view | absent = Bands (journey time, dark is quick); `fit` scores every square 0 to 100 against all the limits and filters at once; `rent` the asking-rent map; `diff` Bike vs PT, where a bike beats public transport and by how much (turns on `pt` and `bike_own` if missing) | Bands | | `ib` | with 2+ destinations in Bands, what the colour shows | `longest` the longest trip; `total` all trips added up; `gap` the gap between the longest and shortest trip | `longest` | | `ft` | Fit only: the map is lit where the score is at least this | 30 to 90, rounded to 5 | 50 | | `dn` | Bike vs PT only: colour only where one is quicker by at least this many minutes | 0 to 20 | 5 | ### Filters (each clears the squares that miss it) | Key | Meaning | Values | Default | |---|---|---|---| | `rb` | rent filter: typical asking rent near the square, £ a month, at most this | 300 to 20000 turns it on; then kept within 400 to 6000 and rounded to 50 | off | | `rbed` | what you rent (for `rb` and the Rent view) | `r` a room in a shared house; `1` studio or 1 bed; `2` 2 bed; `3` 3 bed; `4` 4+ bed | `2` | | `b` | buying filter: the neighbourhood's median sale price, at most this, in £ | 50000 to 5000000 turns it on; then kept within 150000 to 1500000 and rounded to 25000 | off | | `bt` | the property type for `b` | `flat`; `terr` terraced; `semi` semi-detached; `det` detached; `all` all homes | `flat` | | `nr` | Near rows: places to show, with an optional walk limit | `off` (none), or comma-separated `type~minutes`; types `stations`, `pools` (indoor pools), `gyms`, `tennis`, `supermarkets` (big shops), `parks`, `primary` (primary school), `secondary` (secondary school); minutes `0` (show only, no limit), `5`, `10`, `15`, `20` or `30` | `stations~0` | | `cp` | cafés and pubs | `lively` 35 or more cafés, restaurants and pubs within a 10-minute walk; `quiet` the quietest third of the places in reach; `nopub` no pub or bar within a 5-minute walk | any | | `qn` | road and rail noise: quieter than this % of London | 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80 or 90 | off | | `ca` | air pollution (NO₂): cleaner than this % of London | 10 to 90 in steps of 10 | off | | `cc` | crime: calmer than this % of London | 10 to 90 in steps of 10 | off | | `ar` | compare `qn`, `ca` and `cc` with the places in reach instead of all of London | `reach` | all of London | Walks are straight-line distance × 1.3 at 4.8 km/h. Rents are a dated snapshot (homes listed on 11 Oct 2026, rooms on 24 Oct 2026), not today's market; sale prices are ONS medians for the year to March 2026. `nr` replaces the default, so `nr=gyms~15` drops the station dots. ### Other keys | Key | Meaning | |---|---| | `s` | `lat, lon`: opens the details panel for that spot (inside the map area) | | `fw` | Fit weights, written by the page. Opaque: copy it from a link, never write it | | `sl` | a shared shortlist, written by Copy link. Opaque: copy it from a link, never write it | | `dv` | old links only: `dv=1` opens the Bike vs PT view (write `v=diff`) | | `an`, `aq`, `ac` | old links only: earlier noise, air and crime dials, mapped to the nearest `qn`, `ca`, `cc` step | ## Examples 1.
